Taco Seasoning, Its better then the packets

I know you might be thinking why would I make taco seasoning when I can just buy it.
Well check out the sodium in those packets.
Its more then you might think. To much sodium makes you feel puffy. You know that feeling in you fingers or when you can't get your ring off.

This recipe is quick and you can make a good amount and save it in a air tight container.

Ingredients:

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp sea salt

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp ground paprika

1/2 tsp dried oregano

3/4 cup water

1/4 cup marinara

Directions:

Combine into cooked and drained ground turkey.

Add water and marinara then simmer.

Enjoy when taco seasoning is called for

Creamy Garlic Dressing

This dressing is absolutely my favorite!
I have zero need to ever buy dressing again for my salads.
This isn't my picture but I personally keep my dressing stored in portion sized containers so I can grab and go. I always shake before I add to my salad and its the perfect portion with all the lettuce covered but not overwhelming.
I know you will enjoy this simple salad dressing.
Please share if you try it and what your thoughts are.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

3 cloves garlic, crushed

3 tbsp fresh lemon juice

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1 tsp himalayan salt

1/2 dijon mustard

1 tbsp raw honey OR pure maple syrup

Directions:

Place oil, vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, mustard, and honey in a blender or food processor

Blend until smooth.

Refrigerate dressing if not using immediately.

Stir before serving

Chicken Chili Quinoa

This recipe was awesome and if you want a little treat add some cheese on top. My entire family enjoyed this dinner and I enjoyed having only ONE pan to wash!

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb boneless & skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large bell pepper, coarsely chopped
  • 15 oz can red kidney beans, drained & rinsed
  • 15 oz can black beans, drained & rinsed (or extra red kidney beans)
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup quinoa (I use pre-washed)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp mrs dash taco seasoning
Directions:

  1. Preheat large skillet pan on medium/high heat and add chicken and chili powder. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Move chicken to one side of the skillet and make sure an empty portion of the skillet is placed directly over heat. Reduce heat to medium, spray skillet with cooking spray and add bell peppers. Saute for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to low and cook for 25 minutes. Check quinoa for readiness - it will look like it has popped open, revealing the germ of the kernel. Remove from heat and let chili rest for 10 minutes developing the flavours. Add extra water for smoother consistency if desired. Quinoa will absorb liquid as it sits.
